Christine Bakker MChiro DC – Director and Chiropractor

Dr Christine grew up in Holland in a small town near Gouda (where the cheese comes from).

She first got introduced to the magic of Chiropractic through her father. When she was only a little girl he developed a back problem which was initially mild and so he went the usual medical route that people take when they are in pain and don’t yet know about Chiropractic.

Long story short, after seeing many different practitioners, many different types of drugs he was told he needed surgery as he was told he had a disc herniation which was pressing on a nerve.

My first contact with Chirpractic

All I knew at the time was that he was in a lot of pain and that made a big impact on me.

When my mother (and she deserves the credit for this!) heard the news she was determined to try everything else first to avoid surgery for my dad. She found a local Chiropractor and within a few weeks he was feeling a lot better, within a few months he fully recovered and is now going for regular check ups to keep his spine and nervous system healthy.

Having seen the devastating impact that problems like this can have, it inspired Christine to set out on her own journey to become a Chiropractor.

My education

Christine completed the 5 year study at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and ended up with a Master of Chiropractic (MChiro) degree, graduating in 2008.

Christine then worked as an associate in various different clinics over the years in Suffolk, Norfolk and eventually Kent and has now opened up her own clinic in Petts Wood, near Orpington and Bromley.

Outside of work Christine likes to be active with some of her favourite activities being surfing, rock climbing, going out on her bike into the country side and of course her absolute favourite ball sport: Korfball which she has played on and off since she was 8 years old.

Socialising with friends and seeing her family is also high on the agenda and she goes back to Holland to visit them as often as she can.

Since the start of her Chiropractic journey she has gradually discovered how Chiropractic is so much more than just helping people combat their symptoms. She is really excited to help families in every aspect of their journey back to health, which can be a real challenge in this day and age.

Abigail Grace MChiro DC  Chiropractor

Dr Abie was first introduced to Chiropractic when her mum had terrible problems walking. Despite seeing many private Consultants it was only when she tried Chiropractic, she healed and got her life back. This inspired both Abie’s brother and herself to become Chiropractors; they both qualified in 2011. She has worked in Bournemouth, Ashford, Central London, as well in her own Chiro Clinic in a Yoga Studio, before taking a sabbatical at the end of Dec 2019.

Dr Abie’s favourite thing about Chiropractic is the wellness aspects. She is passionate about everything wellbeing, it’s a massive part of her lifestyle, enhancing all her senses and experiences; she is constantly discovering different tools, techniques and products.

In her spare time she loves hanging out with a Pomeranian called Rupert, yoga, creating online content, and learning/experiencing new things from snowboarding and fishing to her recent interest in books on communication and trying out recipes from the ‘Minimalist Baker’. Dr Abie is looking forward to meeting you!

Louise – Chiropractic Assistant

Louise joined the Vital Family Chiropractic team in June 2018 and absolutely loves her role as Chiropractic Assistant. She has realised there is so much more to it than just the admin part. As the front of house, she really loves being part of our clients’ chiropractic journey and the improvements to their health, no matter how big or small. She also loves doing our blackboard and wipe boards, filling them with interesting chiropractic facts and quotes.

Before joining VFC she worked as a massage therapist and has always had a keen interest in the human body and how it works, so she feels her role here is really helping to expand her knowledge. Louise is happily married and has two teenage children who keep her very busy. In her spare time, she likes swimming, walking and going to concerts.
